why i like rocklin

i first heard about rocklin, california back in the park family's AOL days ("you've got mail!") my mom's good friend's screen name was "thunder-something-or-other" for the rocklin high school thunder. (yes, their mascot is a sound.) little did i know that 2 of my freshman roommates and best friends (becca and kaiti) would also be from rocklin. even littler did i know that my husband would be from rocklin. i came to the conclusion that rocklin and i were meant to be, which is great, because i like the place! here's why...

reason 1: delicious hot cocoa. made with milk, love, a candy cane, and reddi wip. (that is not a typo. it's really spelled wip, not whip. i just realized this.)

reason 2: signs with my name on it. and by "signs" i mean "sign." singular. that i've seen. so far. there may be more. i'll research this later.

reason 3: a large amount of photographic evidence of doug's childhood. here's a classic. (although i'm not sure this sibling-friendliness accurately represents anything, but it's precious anyway! doug's on the right, if you couldn't tell.)

and lastly, i love that it doesn't snow on thanksgiving. but i am so looking forward to the snow in idaho this christmas. bring it on!
