voice controls

i started reading the graveyard book quite some time ago on recommendation by veronica's husband, kyle. after my recent discovery of love for audiobooks, i got the audio version instead.

well, halfway into my solo drive back to san diego from anaheim the other day, i really wanted to listen to it. in my attempt to keep my eyes on the road, i tried using my iphone's voice controls using every combination possible. here's the chain of songs that resulted:

- fnt by semisonic (on the 10 things i hate about you soundtrack, of course)

- you're the best by joe esposito (karate kid soundtrack)

- sending you a little christmas by jim brickman or whoever

- some random lady gaga song

- this christmas

i couldn't figure out what to say and i was determined to make my voice controls work. FINALLY i said "play audiobook the graveyard book by neil gaiman" and lo and behold... celine dion: a decade of song began to play. okay, good enough.

i just tried again. 

"play book the graveyard book" = "play songs by david cook"

"play songs by neil gaiman" = "play songs by relient k"

"play audiobooks" = "play songs by leona lewis"

"play book by neil gaiman" = "call 805-3077"

i give up. if anyone knows how to play an audiobook on an iphone using voice controls, let me know.
