26.2 Miles

My mom just ran her SEVENTH marathon in St. George this weekend. That's more than 180 miles of running... just in actual marathons alone. I'm not sure if I've run that far in my entire life. Good job!

I had been looking forward to going to the marathon for months. My mom rented an awesome house with room for everyone and a pool and a hot tub and a great view (which really beats the Days Inn experience that none of us will forget... ever... unfortunately.)

So let's rewind to the beginning of this summer. Doug really, really wanted to run the marathon but for some crazy reason they denied him. Luck of the draw I guess. Whatthecutthe. He still ran all summer though, did a couple half marathons, no big deal. Then, 5 days before the race, he found out he was going to be able to run after all. And he did really well! Here he is with our friend, Brent. (p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENT!)

And, big news, I'm running it next year!* I think this movie Doug and I watched last week inspired me. Plus I want a cool marathon shirt and medal.

* Disclaimer: I say this every year and the desire usually wears off after the first half mile of training.
