wherever you go, there you are

welp, we're in san diego! doug in the u-haul and i in the corolla survived I-15, I-215, I-5, I-8, I-805 and all the other I's in between. by the time we got here it felt like st. george was all a distant dream...

before moving, we had to scope the area out (obviously.) so i got us a sweet deal on a priceline hotel with advice from my mother who is a veteran at bidding on hotels. hello hilton san diego resort and spa! here's the view from our room:

and here's our little comfy special chair-thing on our back porch place.

the hotel also had fire pits everywhere and a private beach. boo ya! we then proceeded to find an awesome apartment in an "unincorporated area of san diego county" called rancho san diego. we'll be legit once we get a post office, but for now we're associated with the mean streets of el cajon. our apartment is cute looks out on a lovely community park.

so we went back, we packed, we cleaned, we moved, we unpacked, and finished everything just in time for doug to start his job on monday. he is currently deep in sleep on our brand new couch kindly picked up for us by his sister katie and her husband. thanks guys!

as for me, i now spend my days on the job hunt. i thought about opening a segway tour company, but it turns out they already have one of those, and i don't have any segways, so it didn't exactly work out.
