today i can't help but think about independence day 2009: a day that will live in infamy. i'm tired just thinking about it. i was so tired then that i didn't even blog about it.

we all headed down to our friend brent's parents' house in st george for a weekend of cave exploring, bbq'ing, monopoly deal, fireworks, and swimming! then the boys decided, what better way to celebrate our nation's freedom than to go rock climbing and mountain biking in the middle of the day?

the rock climbing came first. doug hoarded all the water!

then we got on the bikes and off we went on the green valley trail or bear claw poppy or whatever you wanna call it. (ironically, it's right behind the place i now work: a constant reminder...) it was way fun except way hot and way tiring. becca and i took the easy way around all of the sections with names like clavicle hill and... that's the only name i remember actually.
about halfway through is when things went downhill (literally! jk, figuratively...) we all ran out of water, i rode through a nasty dust devil, tyler popped his bike tire, brent traded bikes and ran tyler's all the way to the end of the trail, becca and i drove back to brent's and almost collapsed from exhaustion...

luckily, we lived to tell about it!

and then we did this for a couple hours:

i was just telling this story today! you forgot the part where all the boys rode the bikes bike to the house so the girls could drive in the car and rest! haha, you did bring us some water though, so maybe that made up for it...
