let freedom riiiiiiing!!!

while i might have regularly slept on a day like today, instead i woke up at 6:30 a.m. to doug watching the live closing arguments of the casey anthony trial and singing "independence day" by martina mcbride. i found out why it's always stuck in his head, but it's still really funny to me.

speaking of the casey anthony trial, i'm pretty sure doug's addicted. he hadn't even heard of casey anthony until a few weeks ago but now he knows every detail. he even gets live updates sent to his cell phone! i wonder what he'll do once it's all over.

the weekend was very eventful. we rented beach cruisers and rode about 20 miles all over coronado island along the silver strand.

we spent a few hours on the beach and found a new place to eat.

we played some tennis and played in the pool. when doug's not watching the casey anthony trial, we've been enjoying the twilight zone marathon on syfy (some episodes are better than others.)

tonight, it's off to a barbecue and possibly the big bay boom. who knows? i'm on vacation.

by the way, fireworks are illegal here. not even a sparkler. heaven forbid a ground bloom fire. don't even think about a piccolo pete.

lastly, i don't really know a good segue into this video so i'm just gonna post it because this is my blog and i do what i want. happy independence day!

that's kind of sad about no fireworks there, especially because they made basically all fireworks legal here this year cause they were sick of everyone going to indiana to buy them. mortars all over this place!

oh, but my real question is for doug: guilty or what?

You two look great!! Seriously love that you biked the strand, that's one of our favorites Ü We would always end up on the beach watching fireworks off private yachts, so amazing with the ocean reflection! xo
